Leveraged Labs wanted an NFT collection as identity badges for its community. The 61Apes launched on Solana: 40+ custom 1/1 “Based Apes,” generative traits for over 550 Apes, and three tiers — Council, Based, and Barracks.
FIRST SKETCH / VECTOR BASE OUTLINE
THE BRIEF
Build a generative-ready art system.
I began with sketches that evolved into outlines in Procreate and Fresco, which became the framework for all trait designs. Every trait was drawn in Fresco, with light post work in Photoshop before running the full layer set through HashLips Art Engine to generate the apes. From there, final selections were made for the 61Apes mint. A Kuniyoshi-inspired palette unified the entire collection.
The project was released in three tiers:
The Council Apes: Custom one-of-ones created in direct collaboration with the leadership team (top-tier).
The Base Apes: 40+ custom pieces drawn and auctioned (mid-tier).
The Generative Collection: 550+ apes created through the engine (low-tier)
