Below the surface of any town, lies a deeper story waiting to be told. The Story Behind the Story was a national brand campaign built on that premise — and I built the visual system behind it. Local photojournalism as the hero, scaled authentically across 100+ markets and the entire USA Today Network.
One visual language, every format. I designed the system to flex — from bespoke market-specific executions to a scalable framework that any newsroom could run with. The craft was in building something rigorous enough to hold at national scale, and restrained enough to let the journalism lead.
